Three weeks from today. Jeez! It’s all really starting to set in that I’m about to leave the country for a long time….that I won’t see family or friends…that I won’t have a home….that I will be living on two weeks worth of clothes from here on out. There doesn’t really seem to be any way to mentally prepare for it. We’re just going to have to embrace whatever comes our way and stay positive! Which isn’t to say that I’m anything less than insanely excited.
This is what our “packing room” looks like right now.
Still trying to figure out how to cram all the new clothes/shoes/equipment I’ve recently purchased into my two packs. It’s not looking good, but there is no way I’m leaving my leather pants, sequin shorts, four camera lenses, or hairdryer behind; any arguments for minimalism on this trip have clearly fallen on deaf ears over here. I need it all. I can handle the extra weight as long as it fits.
Also, our passports arrived safely home this week, complete with approved Indian visas!
I’ve moved out, sold all of my things, turned 29, and gotten being sick out of the way. Tomorrow I’ll get my equipment insured through State Farm and attend our first going away party (the big one will be Feb 25th). So far so good.
