Getting ready for part 2..

Booked my flight to London!! I leave January 7th and arrive on the 8th (layovers in New York and Reykjavik). As of right now I have no plans or clue as to what I will be doing exactly when I get there, but we will figure it out! It’s looking like I’m going to be super busy working and planning things, not to mention Christmas, before I leave, so it will probably fly by. I’m so excited, but it just hit me that I will be saying goodbye to a lot of people I love once again, very bittersweet…

America with Martin

Well, I’ve been back in Atlanta for exactly one month now! Lucky me got to spend three of those weeks with Martin, who showed up earlier than I expected as a surprise, and stayed a little longer than I thought he would be able to. We had a really great time and I’m sad that he isn’t here now. I dropped him off at the airport yesterday morning, Thanksgiving, and he’s in Berlin visiting some friends before taking the train back to Czech Republic.

We got to do some fun typical Atlanta things, like hiking Stone Mountain, the World of Coca Cola, laying around at Piedmont Park, and he met MOST of my friends and family. We even got to go out to Colorado for a few days of snowboarding. Not really something I excelled in, but fun none the less :)

At the airport :(
It made me so happy that he came to see me here and got to meet some of the people that I love most. The list of things I wanted to take him to do and see was constantly growing, so we’ll have to have a much longer visit here before too long. He put up with me dragging him around to meet everyone, over-feeding him, Atlanta traffic, a 24-hour stomach virus, sleeping on my friend’s floors…and as a result I’m just crazy about him.

Right now we’re hoping that he’ll get a new job in England, and I’ll go there to be with him at the beginning of January. I still have some serious traveling to do, which I’ll get to as soon as possible this next year. I know it’s not over quite yet, but 2012 has been the most amazing year of my life. I’m so glad that I set a goal for myself and went out to make it happen, and meeting Martin was the luckiest side effect of travel :)

I can’t wait for all the new things to come in 2013, though I imagine it will be pretty tough to top this year…
